John DeMers is the author of more than fifty books covering food, wine, travel, history, biography and religion. A New Orleans native with homes in Houston and Marfa, Texas, DeMers has written about barbecue in Follow the Smoke and about his quarter-century on the radio in The Delicious Mischief Texas Cookbook. His fiction includes the Chef Brett mystery series beginning with Marfa Shadows and the Danny Morales mystery Terlingua Heat. His food and wine radio show is currently heard weekly in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and New Orleans.
